Beypore Beach
Beypore Beach is located at the mouth of the Chaliyar River at a distance
of mere 10 km to the south of Kozhikode or Calicut in Kerala. It was earlier famous
for the Ship Building industry. Beypore was one of the most important port and
fishing harbor of Kerala during ancient times. The place was an important trade
and maritime center for merchants from Western Asia. Uru, the traditional Arabian
trading vessel, was constructed at the boat-building yard of Beypore. Beypore
also has a magnificent bridge built entirely of stone. The bridge is made by huge
stones piled together to make a pathway into the sea for nearly 2 km.
Sight
Seeing The stone bridge on the Baypore Beach attracts a lot of tourists.
Since the beach is at a close proximity with Kozikhode, you can visit the tourist
attractions of that place as well.
Beach Activities The
Beypore beach is ideal for relaxation, as you will have plenty of peace and solitude
for yourself. You can sunbathe on the sandy beaches of Baypore to get a bronze
tan. Have a leisurely walk all around the village to get an insight into a traditional
village culture of Kerala. Taste the local flavor of fresh seafood of Kerala from
the seaside stalls and drink a lot of cool and refreshing coconut waters.
