Day
1: Arrival
Once all the guests are on board, Vrinda Oberoi
Motor Vessel will set sailing at 1 pm on Vembanad
Lake and enter the Alleppey canal. Have lunch on
board. Watch out the scenic waterways for four hours
while the cruiser sails and returns to the Vembanad
Lake so that you can watch the sunset.Spend the
evening enjoying a highly ritualized "Kathakali"
dance performance telling stories from Hindu epics
like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Have dinner and an
overnight aboard the vessel while it anchors for
the night at the Vembanad Lake.
Day 2: Aboard Vrinda and a rice boat excursion
Second day of your Tour on The Oberoi Motor Vessel
starts with a sail from the Vembanad Lake jetty
towards Alleppey in South at 7 am. Have breakfast
aboard the cruise. Watch out for waterways of the
Pamba River. Later the vessel anchors near Kanjippadam
from where the guests will be transferred to a traditional
rice boat for navigating through the narrower backwaters.
You will come across the half statue of Lord Buddha
at Karumadi and Kerala Tharavad. Lunch on board
and pass through Alleppey and for night the vessel
anchors at the Vembanad Lake jetty. Dinner on board.

Day
3: Aboard Vrinda and a rice boat excursion
Day 3 of the tour on The Oberoi Motor Vessel starts
with a sail at 7 am from Vembanad Lake jetty towards
south passing through Kanjippadam. Then the vessel
will anchor near Chambakulam from where the guests
will get transferred to a rice boat once again to
enjoy a pre-lunch excursion. You will be visiting
St. Mary's Church and Sree Bhagavathy Kshetram Temple.
Also explore Chambakulam Snake Boat Yard that displays
long snake boats. Later in the afternoon return
to Vembanad Lake and enjoy a Mohiniattam recital
on board The Oberoi Motor Vessel. Dinner on board
with an overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure
End up your tour on The Oberoi Motor Vessel with
a sail towards the north at 8 am. Have breakfast
on board and then the vessel will return to the
Vembanad Lake jetty. Check out at around 10 am and
get transferred to Cochin by an air-conditioned
vehicle. |
