Day 1 : Cochin
Arrive to Cochin
where our travel executives transfer you to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 : Cochin - Munnar
Morning sightseeing
tour of Fort Cochin. Cochin, the city area with remnants of the various influences
of the historical port of India. Also Visit St Francis Church, where Vasco De
Gama was first buried, Chinese fishing nets, Mattancherry Palace with well preserved
fresco paintings and the oldest Synagogue in the Commonwealth.
After lunch
drive 120kms (3hrs) to Munnar, a breathtakingly beautiful hill resort situated
in the cradle of tea plantations, stretching in all directions.
Day
3 : Eravikulam - Periyar
Morning free for trekking with
a naturalist in Eravikulam wildlife sanctuary with a wide range of birds too.
Enjoy trekking and the sanctuary, home to the endangered Nilgiri Thar, a rare
species of mountain goat. After lunch take a scenic drive to Periyar ( 110kms/2.5hrs),
a part of the Project Tiger scheme and also home to large herds of elephants,
bison and deer. Overnight stay in Periyar.
Day 4 : Kumarakom
Take an early morning boat ride and visit the various spice plantations where
cardamom, nutmeg and pepper are grown in Periyar. After lunch drive through lush
agricultural areas down the hills to reach Kumarakom. Kumarakom, a backwater destination,
is home to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Take a boat ride at sunset to see the
birds relaxing at night. Overnight stay in Kumarakom
Day 5
: Kumarakom
Morning is free to explore the local area or
just relax amidst the verdant surroundings. At noon your houseboat will pick you
up at the resort and you will embark on a remarkable journey through the coconut
palmed canals. Your houseboat crew will take care of your every need, cook you
delicious Kerala food and show you the places of interest on route.
Day
6 : Alleppey - Kovalam
In the morning you will reach Alleppey.
After breakfast you leave the houseboat and drive 4hrs to Kovalam Beach. You can
enjoy lazing out at the tranquil beach or at the Ayurvedic beach resort where
you can go for a whole body, mind and soul rejuvenation.
Day
7 & 8 : Trivandrum
In the evening you are transferred to
the Trivandrum airport for your onward flight to the desired destination or your
way back home.
