Coconut Lagoon is a CGH Earth
Group Enterprise or a Casino Group located at Kumarakom and backwater treasures
of Kerala in India. The resort is engulfed with the palm trees on the eastern
shores of Lake Vembanad, at Kumarakom leading to the Kavanar River. Set on a forlorn
coconut plantation, in the heart of these fascinating backwaters, the resort ha
been designed for an authentic insight into Kuttanad life.
The resort is
accessible only by the boat. A ferry leaves from one of several "mainland"
boarding points at fixed intervals throughout the day, the closest of them being
Kumarakom.
Coconut Lagoon consists of a Bungalow Accommodation and AC cottage.
An Ayurvedic Massage Centre, Multi-cuisine Restaurant and the Swimming Pool renders
an attractive look. An enchanting view of the Vembanad lake with a serene ambience
makes it a favourite destination for overseas guests.
It is located about
78 kms from Cochin and 10 kms from Kottayam.

Accommodation
The Coconut Lagoon Ayurvedic Resort consists of small individual cottages known
as Tharavadu, and bungalows constructed in primitive Kerala style architecture.
Coconut Lagoon provides three kinds of accommodation namely Heritage Bungalows,
Heritage Mansions and Private pool villas. The Heritage Mansions consists of two
floors. The upstairs bedroom gallery display an awesome view of Lake Vembanad.
The remaining two types of accommodation are much more compact and single-level
cottages. Furnished with jack woods, they conserve the originality of family homes.
The marvellous wooden carvings with terracotta-tiled floors exhibit that magical
appeal.
Apart from their varying configuration, some of the air-conditioned
units are built in modern replicas incorporating the fragments of old architecture.
Ayurvedic Treatments
A plethora of magical Ayurvedic massages
by expert masseurs have the inherent quality to treat any kind of chronic ailment.
Symptoms of any disease is cured by the qualified resident staff of the dispensary
through apt treatment. Under the guidance of an expert physician, the Coconut
Lagoon offers the following therapies:
* Sirovasthi : A treatment that
anoints the head with special herbal oils. Good for headaches and Vatha originated
ailments. Proposed period: 7 days or according to condition.
* Dhara :
A mental relaxant consisting of herbal oils and medicated butter milk poured on
the forehead and sometimes on the body as well. Good for insomnia, mental tension
and certain skin problems. Proposed Period: 7 to 21 days or according to condition.
* Njavarakizhy : A treatment that induces perspiration through the external application
of medicated rice concocations. Good for joint pains, arthritic conditions and
certain skin diseases. Proposed period: 14 days or according to condition. | *
Pizhichil : A special kind of massage with herbal oils. Good for rheumatic ailments
and nervous disorders. Proposed period: 7 to 14 days or according to condition.
* Massage-General : The body ts massaged with herbal oils and powders. Tones improves
circulation and restores energy and vigour.
* Nasyam : A variety of herbal
preparations are used to cleanse the nasal passage.
* Medicated Steam
Bath : The body is exposed to the rejuvenating vapours of special leaves and herbs
that are boiled. Eliminates toxins, reduces fat tissue and good for certain skin
disorders.
* Udvarthanam : A massage with herbal powders. Good for obesity,
paralysis and certain rheumatic disorders. Proposed period: 14 to 28 days or according
condition.
